商品の紹介My consistent concern has been how to change the fixed notion in society that regards art as something isolated and reserved for the "cultured" few. John Dewey's Art as Experience, a theory of art that sees the origin of art as a life-sustaining impulse, was precisely the answer to my concern. Art lies not within the possession of portraits of musicians like Bach and Beethoven in the school music rooms; rather, art is something that every human being possesses as an impulse to create from the moment they are born into the world. Based on Dewey's theory of occupation, which is rooted in everyday experience, I formulated the idea of "artistic construction activity" as an educational method to continuously develop everyday experience, starting from impulse, into artistic experience. This serves as the link between Dewey's theories of education and art.Just as Dewey recognized the significance of occupation in human development amidst the social transformation caused by the Industrial Revolution in the 18th and 19th centuries, we can recognize the significance of artistic construction activity in human development amidst the social transformation caused by AI in the 21st century. It is my hope that the concept of artistic construction activity proposed in this book will be critiqued and reconfigured by those who follow. She received a bachelor’s degree from Ochanomizu University, Tokyo, Japan, and a doctoral degree from Nagoya University, Nagoya, Japan. She has served as a representative of Japan Association for the Study of School Music Educational Practice, and an executive director of John Dewey Society of Japan. She was a member of the Conference for Course Guidelines of Music Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Her books include Artistic Construction Activity based on the Concept of J. Dewey’s Occupation, (with SAWADA Atsuko) Expression Education by Music: from inheritance to creation, Study on Child’s Musical Development through Analysis of Construction Activity of School Music Classes, and (with TAKAHASHI Yoko) Child’s Sound World: education of freely making- music. (Japanese) 著者紹介 小島 律子（こじま りつこ） 大阪教育大学名誉教授・博士（教育学）（名古屋大学）。 専門分野 音楽教育、教育方法学、教育実践学。 1950年愛知県名古屋市生まれ。お茶の水女子大学文教育学部教育学科（音楽教育学専攻）卒業、名古屋大学大学院教育学研究科博士課程（教育方法学専攻）単位取得退学のち、大阪教育大学助手、講師、助教授、教授を経て現在に至る。その間、文部科学省「中学校学習指導要領（音楽）の改善に関する調査研究協力者」、日本学校音楽実践学会代表理事、日本デューイ学会理事等を務める。 主な著書に、『構成活動を中心とした音楽授業の分析による児童の音楽的発達の考察』風間書房、『音楽による表現の教育―継承から創造へ―』（澤田篤子共著編）晃洋書房、『デューイのオキュペーション概念に基づく芸術的構成活動』風間書房、等。 |
